Congregations affected by Hurricane Katrina

・Christ the King, Kenner (where the airport is located on the west side of the city); Pastor Ron Unger
・St. Mark, Metairie - the next suburb area moving east from Kenner; Pastor Lisa Gaye (facilities located about two blocks from the levee)
・Grace, New Orleans; Pastor Dan Duke - fairly new facility not too far from the big cemeteries.
・Bethlehem, New Orleans - south of I-10 in a poorer part of the city, and about 115 years old, African American primarily; Pastor Pat Keen
・Gethsemane, Chalmette - south east of down town and across the Mississippi River from the West Bank -hit very hard by the storm; Pastor Jim Shears
・Peace, Slidell - eastern end of the metro area -only about 7 miles from Louisiana-Mississippi state border -hit very hard also by the storm; Pastor Barb Simmers
・Hosanna, Covington -on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain -just moved into a new facility -not as much flooding, but could be damage from fallen trees and wind; Pastor Anton Kern and Pastor Sean Ewbanks.
・Love Lutheran, Algiers; Pastor Scott Landrum
・House of Prayer, Harvey -in the middle area of the West Bank; Pastor Chris Markert
・Good Shepherd, Marrero -Dr. Bob Gnuse,
・Galilean, La Place ・west of New Orleans toward Baton Rouge ・Pastor Ron Unger just resigned to accept the Call to Kenner
・Our Saviors and St. Paul -both in Baton Rouge; Interim Pastor Robin McCollough-Bade and Pastor Stan Eckermann
In a recent email from Kurt Senske, President of LSS: "it appears that both Bethlehem Children's Residential Treatment Center and Peace Lake Towers have sustained significant damage."
